Arts Nunawading Inc. is a non-profit organization. Established in 1964 by local art groups, it has grown to a total of 15 member groups undertaking a wide range of artistic endeavours.
Arts Nunawading Inc's objective is to aid in the understanding, dissemination, participation and promotion of the Arts throughout the City of Whitehorse.
Our diverse range of non-professional member groups include:
- Theatre groups—musical and dramatic
- Dance groups—classical, modern, jazz, character and Scottish Highland dancing
- Orchestras—adult symphony and local High School band groupings
- Choirs—for both adults and children
- Fine Art groups
- Horticultural groups including floral art
- University of the 3rd Age—Nunawading
- Film society
Arts Nunawading Inc. raises funds primarily by managing the Nunawading Market. Funds raised through Nunawading Market are distributed to our Member groups to provide financial assistance to support local community events, the purchase of items of equipment or special needs requests.
Arts Nunawading Inc. also administers the Dick Lack Award. This scholarship provides young people an opportunity to pursue excellence in their chosen artistic field.
